"When the restaurant first opened, the food was delicious and the service was excellent. Later, the taste changed and the service became very slow, but it's still worth trying. The prices are reasonable and the place is spacious. We ordered okra with meat, lamb hanith, fahsa, and lamb salona."

"Came here for the second time and I always order their Lamb mandi. It taste excellent! The meat’s very tender and the rice alone is “chef’s kiss” I also very much in love with both the andeni tea and the yemen tea. They both taste really great and comforting. Also a bit of advice, they could make change the menu “pamphlet” to proper menu book. For a restaurant that big they have to make a proper menu book with cleare pictures of the food. The menu they have now is really small and improper, not fit for the most elderly customers. Food aside, that one male arab staff is really cute. "Bab El Yemen Bangkok was amazing. We came in around 1:30am and they were genuinely happy to host us, super accommodating and full of good energy even that late. The juices were some of the best I’ve had, and the platters were generous and perfect for sharing. The highlight for me was the mutton soup. It seriously woke up our soul, rich and comforting, and it came with plenty of rice and greens. Quality and service this good in the middle of the night is rare. Highly recommended."

"BAB AL-YEMEN in Nana is one of Bangkok’s standout Middle Eastern restaurants, offering an authentic taste of Yemeni cuisine right in the heart of Sukhumvit’s Arab district. Popular among tourists, expats, and locals, the restaurant is especially known for its rich flavors, generous portions, and traditional dining atmosphere. The menu focuses heavily on classic Yemeni and Arabic dishes. One of the highlights is the Mandi rice with lamb or chicken — fragrant basmati rice cooked with spices and served with tender, slow-roasted meat that falls off the bone. The mixed grill platter is another favorite, featuring juicy kebabs, lamb chops, and chicken skewers seasoned with bold Middle Eastern spices. Freshly baked Arabic bread and creamy hummus complement the heavier meat dishes perfectly. Inside, the ambiance reflects traditional Yemeni culture. Guests can choose between standard table seating or majlis-style floor seating, creating a warm, communal dining experience ideal for groups and families. The décor, Arabic music, and hospitality add to the immersive feel. Prices are mid-range for Bangkok but reasonable considering the large portion sizes — many dishes are easily shareable. Service is generally friendly, though it can slow down during busy dinner hours. Overall, BAB AL-YEMEN is highly recommended for anyone craving authentic Arab cuisine in Bangkok. With its flavorful mandi, quality grilled meats, and cultural atmosphere, it delivers both a satisfying meal and a unique dining experience in the Nana area."

"This Yemeni restaurant is spacious inside with sitting arrangements on the floor and tables, on the ground floor and the 1st floor. After we sat down, they placed a paper table mat and served cups of warm chicken stock. We ordered appetiser set which had strained yogurt, hummus, mutabbal and baba ghanoush. The Yemeni bread to go with it was massive and the three of us couldn’t finish it. It was warm and flaky and topped with black sesame but once it cooled down it became impossibly tough. The Chicken Zurbian rice was light and fluffy and paired well with the tomato, garlic, coriander sauce. The chicken was cooked thoroughly enough to be fork tender. After dinner, we ordered Adeni Yemeni tea which is milk tea and Mint Tea and both came already sweetened. It would have been better if they had provided sugar sachets instead of adding sugar to the tea since everyone prefers taking different sugar levels. Previously we had tried their Mutton Mandi and Fattoush Salad and they were pretty delicious too. One suggestion to the team would be for them to give a large spoon to serve the rice. I kept asking for a large spoon but the servers brought me various spoons but a large one."

"The ambiance here is really cool—between the music and the décor, you instantly get that authentic Arabic vibe. It’s not fancy or over the top, just genuinely enjoyable and different from the usual spots. The food was the real highlight for me. They offer a big range of Yemeni dishes, many of which were totally new to me, and the flavors were so good. Presentation was fine, but honestly the taste is what makes it memorable. Prices are pretty reasonable, and the place seemed clean overall. It’s tucked away in Shukumit 7 alley and stays open late, which is a nice bonus. The waiting time for food was totally normal and didn’t bother me at all. Overall, it’s a great place to check out if you want a different vibe—and the food definitely won me over."
